Surgeries are performed at the Shadow Mountain Surgical Center housed within the Buzard Eye Institute, a Medicare approved, state of the art outpatient facility.

LATEST TECHNOLOGY ON-SITE
Our VISX Star S3 is a permanent on-site laser. The FDA has prohibited the use of mobile lasers. To circumvent this, some practices unload a mobile laser into their office, which must be calibrated each and every time it is taken off the truck and placed in the surgery center. This repeated transportation affects the calibration of these sensitive machines and the optics as well.

We are equipped with only state-of-the-art medical apparatus, including a separate operating room microscope. In the LASIK procedure, the LASIK flap is made using this microscope, which enables a much more precise surgery. Lens exchange surgery, as an alternative to corneal refractive surgeries such as LASIK, does more than improve vision; it eliminates the possibility of cataract formation and is an excellent alternative to LASIK for patients over the age of 50. We use the latest lens technology in the ArrayAE Multifocal lens, which allows correction in both distance and reading vision.
